In December we sent corn flour. So we had to share how to use it. This is a sweet and traditional way of using cornmeal.

  • 4 tablespoons of cornmeal
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon of margarine
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 a lemon peel
  • 1/2 cup of water

Mix the cornmeal with water in a small bowl and set aside. Bring to heat a casserole with milk, salt, lemon peel and cinnamon stick. When the milk is hot, pour the corn flour mixture into the casserole and stir until the mixture is boiling and thick. Add the sugar and margarine and cook on low heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly so it does not burn. Remove the lemon peel and cinnamon stick.

Serve in individual dishes or individual bowls. Sprinkle with cinnamon or honey.
